Couponing

I just wanted to share a little bit about how to effectivly coupon to get things free or close to free.

1- Watch your store circulars for "on sale items" This is critical to get things free and almost free!!!
2- Keep all your coupon inserts from the newspaper, also there are a few websites you can go to and print coupons that are accepted at all stores.
3- You want to go to stores that will double, super double and triple the value of the coupon. Such as bi-lo, Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods.
4- Make sure you have a member card and sign up on their website for extra saving. Rite-Aid has a great member saving incentive "video value coupons" which you can use along with a manufacturer coupon for even more savings. Most stores will have their own in store coupons you can use.
5- Go to your favorite products website and sign up for their newsletters because they will e-mail you special coupons only for their newsletters members that you can not get anywhere else.
6- Stay organized, now this varies from person to person. Personally I have a multi file folder that I have labled by the month and rather than clipping every coupon I just file the insert by the month, it saves a lot of time!
7- Get your grocery list ready before hand along with your coupons so you are not spending hours in the store going through every coupon. I will try to give you everything you need to get ready before hand.
8- Partner up with friends and family to trade coupons one or the other may need that you do not and vice versa.
9- Stock Pile items that are free and below a dollar. Items usually are on a 6 week sale cycle so make sure you purchase enough for 6 weeks.
10- Share your savings with others

Printable coupon websites:

coupons.com
redplum.com
mysavings.com (this site is also good for getting free samples in the mail)

Be careful to not "google" or search for a coupon on the internet because there are a lot of fraudlent coupons out there that are virus's, stick with the websites, coupon inserts from the newspapers and newsletters you've signed up for and you will be safe. Also, try to get more than one newspaper because some items if they are free you can get more than one of. Please pay for every newspaper from a paper box. Most of these people are independent and souly rely on the money you spend at that specific paper box as their income.

As I get more in depth into this and learn to navigate my blog and add tabs and stuff I will add more stores and savings but for right now I am going to post critical things that I know every family regularly uses.

OH..... and thanks Amanda for turning me on to all of this!!

Happy couponing everyone
